Diagnosed nine months ago with Acute Lymblastic Leukaemia, we follow Marcus as he organises a charity gig with his band, Mexicofallz to raise not only money, but also awareness of the disease. As a way of saying thank you to everyone, with the help of family members and friends, he sets about raising money for the charities that have helped him along the way, including CLIC Sargent, Sue Ryder Care and The Teenage Cancer Trust. Marcus’s dad explains the importance of continuing with hobbies, if possible, to regain normality and talks about his own experience of having a child with cancer. Marcus talks about the shock of being diagnosed, however friends and family are at hand to praise him for the strength and maturity he has shown throughout his treatment.

After finding herself back in hospital again due to an infection and low counts, Alice is feeling deflated and wants to be back at home. After a talk with the doctors however, Alice soon realises she must stay and get better before she can return home, and sure enough, proving everyone wrong, her counts steadily creep back up to normal range! An ecstatic Alice finally returns to her home comforts, but also returns to the ever looming exam results day, causing her to feel a mixture of emotions. The day arrives, and amazingly, Alice gains a sparkling set of grades, despite being extremely ill when sitting them. A post exams party with friends means only one thing…drunken, camp dancing from Jordan! It’s a case of festival fever as Alice has an amazing time at V and Reading, managing to meet one of her favourite bands, Muse. After all the fun of mingling with celebrities, Alice is suitably worn out, but doesn’t stop there…she has a full treatment plan sorted and is already planning a holiday!

Aged 17, diagnosed 7 years ago and blasting out of the stereo? S Club 7 of course! Lizzy is certainly all about the 7’s. As she tells her story, we hear about everything from radiotherapy to Teegan the dog, complete with a series of photographs taken at the time. Lizzy also explains how supportive friends and family were during treatment, especially her two brothers, who always managed to keep her entertained and in high spirits. A tour around Lizzy’s room highlights her love for dogs, mainly of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel kind! After hearing more of her story, it’s time to take to the water as Lizzy explains how after she was taught, it’s now her turn to teach children how to sail- both a fun and valuable experience.
