Filming Tips
- Record the whole tape before watching it back.
- When finished a tape slide the save tab on the top of the tape.
- Turn off anything that is making a noise e.g. fans etc, if its not possible to turn it off get a shot of it for at least 10 seconds, nice and steady.
- For sound try and keep the camera no more than an arms length away and make sure you don’t cover the microphone with your thumb or hand.
- Get shots of the things you are talking about,e.g. drip stands so on.
- Get variations in your filming, don’t do your video diary’s in the same place film in different rooms, take it outside take it out when you go somewhere.
- Think about places to film e.g. if you are talking about food do it in the kitchen, make a sandwich film mum/dad cooking.
- If you film other people make sure that they know what you are filming for and ask them ON CAMERA if its OK. This is for legal reasons.
- If you are on a children’s ward try to avoid filming young children, if it cannot be avoided we have to get the permission of the parents.
- When you finish a tape put it in the tape box number it and put on your name.
- If anything important happened write it on the tape box.
- Don’t film with a light or window right behind you, film with the light, the light from the window needs to be lighting up your face.
- If you are finding it hard to get started or need some help you can email Mark at mosaicnorth@aol.com or ring him on his mobile 07984436198 any time for advice.
